SITUATION OVERVIEW • Mauritania hosts the largest number of Malian refugees in West Africa, 305,000 refugees and asylum seekers are estimated in the country in which 178,341registered refugees reside in Hodh Chargui (HEC). WFP continues to adapt its life-saving food and nutrition assistance for refugees and host communities amid rising needs. • Mauritania’s reliance on food and fuel imports has increased
